Education Ministry has Launched Teleschool
An educational channel Teleschool is going to be On Air through Pakistan Television PTV. Education Minister had announced to launch the Teleschool, and it is launched by Prime Minister of Pakistan on 13 April 2020. PM Imran Khan said that the government will use the resources to bring more improvements on the channel.
As schools and colleges are closed nowadays due to coronavirus, therefore, to provide an opportunity to school going students and to ensure the students get an education in these lockdown days ministry of education decided to launch a TV channel_teleschool through Pakistan television(PTV).
Taking from twitter, the ministry of federal education said that the aim of this initiative is to provide 10 hours course based classes on a daily basis. He said that “Although there is no match of direct teaching environment in the classrooms we hope that this alternative will also be helpful for the students”.
Prime minister(Imran khan) launched this channel today on 13 April 2020(Monday). He said that the government will utilize all its resources to improve this channel.
It is worth mentioning here that to launch this channel a meeting was held between the minister of education Shafqat Mahmood and the managing director of PTV channel Aamer Manzoor. Later they attended an agreement ceremony in which they both signed an agreement.
According to the agreement, the ministry of federal education will broadcast this channel through PTV during the vacations. The schools will be reopened on 1st April but the agreement was signed for three months as one month will be backup time for developing the solution against coronavirus. The managing director of PTV has ensured to give full support in this regard and will work for the promotion of education for the next three months.
This channel will be provided on PTV on a regular basis form 14 April 2020. The channel will provide programs for classes 1 to 12 from 8 am to 6 pm every day. The duration of lectures for class I to V will be 15 minutes while it will be 20 minutes for class VI and above. English, Maths, Urdu and general science will be taught for lower classes while all subjects will be taught for higher classes.
The weekly timetable for the students will be provided in some days on websites and will also be provided through channel according to Federal directorate of education director-general Syed Umair Javed. He hoped that this channel will be beneficial for the students and will help the students to prepare for their exams.
As stated by ministry education, the content for the channel will be broadcasted in the next days. He said that it will be handed over to PTV after giving final touches. He said that the parents and students will be informed about this content through advertisements and through the channel.
Sources in the federal directorate of education(FDE) said that a large number of experts and several private companies helped for content development and in finalizing the content which will be free of cost. The content for lower classes i.e. from class 1 to 10 had been completed and will be handed over to PTV in the next three days and the content for intermediate classes after a few days.
He also said that PTV will add some graphics and will make some changes to attract and to get the attention of the students.
