UBL is declared as the best digital bank by Asiamoney. Asiamoney is an associate of Euromoney and it has announced UBL as the fastest and modern bank of Pakistan. UBL digital customers are more than one million by the year 2020.
The Asiamoney, an associate of Euromoney, has announced UBL as Pakistan’s Best Digital Bank for 2020. UBL is considered the fastest and the modern bank of Pakistan, which promotes the best digital banking. The bank has designed a digital lab to increase its digital revolution. The digital lab was inaugurated at the ceremony held in Karachi. Sir Muhammad Anwar Pervez, Chairman UBL, Bestway Group, OBE, HPC, Sima Kamil, president, and CEO UBL inaugurated the lab ceremony. It was built in collaboration with IBM and based on IBM thinking framework, which is useful for applying creative business solutions and require modern enterprises. It also helps customers while addressing issues and developing problems by placing end-users at the center of innovation.
UBL is a Pakistani financial bank and its headquarter is based in Karachi, Pakistan, and is a subsidiary of British company Bestway Group. Agha Hasan Abedi is the founder of UBL. More than 15000 employees are working in the headquarter of UBL, which is located in Karachi, Pakistan. There are more than 1200 branches of UBL across Pakistan. The head of UBL’s digital banking, Mr. Sharjeel Shahid, said that the customers of UBL had become admirers of its digital policy. The customers had also increased the rating of UBL’s digital banking app that is available on the play store through which customers can easily send or receive money while sitting at home. This facility is very useful for the customers, especially in these days of lockdown due to COVID-19. The UBL made this for mainly two purposes, one for enhancing customers' experience and the other one to introduce operational efficiencies for the bank.
The president and CEO UBL Mrs. Sima Kamil said that this award is the UBL’s proof of increasing the scope of economic services and the innovation in the industry of local banking through digital channels in Pakistan. This change needs more meaning because the bank promotes the use of digital channels to keep millions of customers safe from COVID-19.
